Mozilla confirms it will default Firefox DNS to @Cloudflare DNS based on an "Ok, got it" style notification, but will include a button to not accept that. Some further details & nuance can be found in this statement:mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/doh/p…
Note that if Mozilla likes your ISP and it also offers DoH, Firefox may offer the user the option of continuing to use that ISP DNS. But you have to be on the Mozilla "approved list":

I suggest ignoring this thread on EDNS Flag Day. Reading it will leave you misinformed.
DNS has two kinds of servers: Authoritative and Caching/Resolving servers. Back in 1999, an extension to DNS was defined called EDNS. It was then also defined how any kind of server that receives a question with EDNS on it should respond. In 1999! 2/
The problem now is that some authoritative servers (that host domain name details), go crazy when you send them an EDNS query. They provide no response, a crazy response or sometimes a confusing response ("I support EDNS, but not that kind"). 3/

Cloudflare has huge legal liabilities because it (re)hosts content for "denied entities" ("terrorists"). This is usually enough to kill a US company dead & it is somewhat odd US DoJ has not yet acted on this. It already has big implications for the internet at large though. 1/5
Since Cloudflare is obviously in potential hot water with the US government, something that is especially bad if you are heading for an IPO, they will have vital interest in anything that makes this issue go away. So, what does Cloudflare have on offer to fix their problem? 2/5
Most of the data hosted by Cloudflare consists of public websites. However, over the past year, the company has been trying very hard to get the Firefox browser to send it the name of each and every website a user visits, ostensibly because this enhances your privacy (?!) 3/5

OK, a few people have asked me to put on my Strategist hat and explain what PMB & APC got wrong in their approach to the CJN suspension fiasco. A key criticism of this govt has always been its lack on intelligence & strategy. If this was a better skilled govt, there are ways...

Firstly, people falsely make comparison with the Salami case. JEG was better advised than PMB. JEG used the NJC to achieve its purpose. So even though folks knew it was the govt pulling the strings; nothing could be done...
...about it as DUE PROCESS was scrupulously followed.

In Salami, it was NJC that suspended him. It was also the NJC that recommended his removal from the bench to JEG. A request JEG answered with immediate alacrity. So, an appearance of due process (even though Influenced)...

A tremendously popular piece of advice is "look at other peoples software to help you learn how to code" but the way modern code works, you can't do that.
Let me explain: If you wanted to figure out how, say, Doom worked, the source code is NOT HARD. There's. Like. v_game.c, and you can open it and read it and there's code that does something.
