As we approach 2020, it's essential that we call on journalists to be more precise with their language, both in their analysis and in the questions they ask.

"culture war," for example, is a loaded, sloppy term.
A lot of reporters seem to miss the importance of this, but here it is:

A *lot* of people have suffered under the weight of bigotry over the past decade (and obviously, even further back than that)...
They have been denied the right to vote, they have been deemed "un-American," they have been killed by police, they have been denied entry to their own country, they've been denied aid after natural disasters...
The ONLY solace these people (or their remaining family) will receive will come in the form of truth--truth about who caused these travesties and the hatred that inspired them. That's where journalists come in.
So your sloppy, imprecise language is not victimless. Your laziness (or perhaps your motives are more sinister?) is denying people who have suffered an accurate recount of their suffering. And that's awful.
