As a parent, you will realize, not all kids have the ENDURANCE and RESILIENCE. From my experience, a degree is not just a degree, people are wired differently

I have seen people study a given field, but Excel in a different field an even become CEOs. Don't let your kid do any course if they don't have the RESILIENCE AND ENDURANCE

The term a first degree is basic, only applies to people who can stand the test, realize that when one dream is not working, they can dream another dream
Not all kids have this type of RESILIENCE and ENDURANCE

An African youth studies to be employed, starting a business is only an alternative, only 5% of those who start businesses succeed
Lack of employment can be devastating

Not every kid has capacity to become anything. Kids who lack RESILIENCE and ENDURANCE
end up a burden to the parents or a nuisance to the society
Either abuse drugs or end up in crime

Once you asses the ability of any kid. You need to advise them to choose a given path in life. A kid who knows only one way of doing things should study with a clear employer in mind

For example, a doctor, nurse, accountant, a teacher,. Chef ..... Those are people who wake up knowing what they are supposed to do. They know their employer

Speaking of CEOs, who studied anything or dropped out, those are RESILIENT, DYNAMIC, ENDURING people who can figure out things, and 1000 approaches to a problem.

Not everyone has the ability to figure out things, not everybody can survive TURBULENCE, some people need a permanent and pensionable job to sit there and retire there

People think arts / business courses are easy, maybe yes and no because the practice is DYNAMIC, there is no static approach to business environment

One can study business but never to fit in any business related job. This is because the practice needs people who can constantly be on the RUN, to think differently

The ability to figure out will determine if your kid can rise through the ranks of business or social sciences where there is no formula of doing things

We have made fun of graduates on the streets. Girls graduating with BA..... Or Bsc... Only to sell 🐱 for a living. Yes not everyone has the RESILIENCE and ENDURANCE, ABILITY to figure out what next

I hope this helps you advise your kids, sisters, brothers joining university. A DEGREE is NOT a JUST a DEGREE, not everyone can become anything, not even when pushed

Respect sales people when you meet them, it's one of those jobs that one really needs RESILIENCE, ENDURANCE, ABILITY to FIGURE OUT, very DYNAMIC that's why not everyone can sell
