Live listener events —where hosts like me, @DennisPrager @MedvedSHOW @radiotalkermike and our local colleagues— meet and talk with hundreds and hundreds of voters who self-select because of course they are politically active are fascinating in run up to elections.
In last few weeks I’ve done them in Phoenix, Tampa, NYC, Columbus, Pittsburgh. The takeaway —w/ necessary caveat that “anectdotal evidence is evidence of anectdoes”— is that the GOP base is the equal of D base in energy and commitment, set afire by #JusticeKavanaugh proceedings.
I’ve been doing these pre-elelction tours since 2002. The communicate only mood and energy and it is off the charts. I assume the D experience is the same. This is not the traditional setting for a wave when one side is demoralized/disappointed and the other marching —2006/2010.

Today I received an email from @DExEUgov one that reads like it comes from a parallel universe. A universe where negotiations are going well. One in which no deal is very unlikely, relationships are cordial and all is just lovely.
I'll post a THREAD. Judge for yourselves.
1/ Dept ex EU response to petition to remain if no deal can be agreed:

"Whilst striking a deal with our EU partners remains the outcome we expect, ‘no deal’ plans are well-developed and we stand ready to make a success of Brexit, whatever the outcome of our negotiations."
2/ We are leaving the EU. That’s what the British public voted for and that is what we will deliver.

Negotiations are progressing well and we are confident of a deal this autumn.

Dear friends: Just the last few days, three fake Twitter accounts (and an Instagram account) were set up in my name, which have been taken down. Don't fall for the fake ones (usually with some small misspelling), which are often set up to ask for money, or trick you in some way.
The number of fake accounts using my name (or facsimiles) has been increasing in the last few weeks, and I would hate to have anyone taken advantage of, or tricked in any way. Just look for the little blue check mark next to my name on each account to make sure it's "authentic."
Fortunately, I use a service that searches the web to identify these accounts and then reports them to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. But be careful nonetheless!

Businesses must understand UX if they must stay competitive in today's world. Time is the greatest commodity today. Unlike any other thing, it has a fixed supply daily - 24hrs.

Last night I tried *329# for the first time. I've always been a *737# guy.
I like the near frictionless nature of 737, the former, not so great. While trying to use 329, it asked me for a few details; first name, last name, date of birth. By the time I got to the DOB part, I became frustrated and abandoned the transaction.
I just wanted airtime for God sake. Why all the hoops? It turns out, 329 is a way of onboarding new customers into the bank. You get a "tiny" account that has a cap on everything. When I realized this, my first thought was "why make me do this again? You already have my details"

For those who don’t know, the past 5 years of my career I've been working on an OS for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. 2 years ago, I realized that as VR/AR hardware reaches wider audiences, people will expect more than installable apps and games. They will expect the Web.
In fact, extrapolating from phone/tablet usage today, half of time spent in VR/AR could be spent browsing the Web. That realization began my journey into what became the W3C Immersive Web group and our work to design and build the WebXR Devices APIs to enable that future.
