@TaodeHaas "Social Democracy"is where the government owns most public utilities in order to control the economic environment. Within that environment operates commercial activities. The government sets boundaries around the commercial activities for environmental sustainability.
@TaodeHaas Does Labor practise "Social Democracy"? Labor in Australia is "Neo-Liberalism", with a social focus. The LNP focuses on providing an infrastructural environment in which a free market has the efficiency to operate and the market is free labour +corporate
@TaodeHaas "Neo-liberalism", is the belief that government sets an ideal environment in which a free market exists. Individuals strike own deals wit employers. Corporates have a free reign to do what they need to do make profit. It is believed that it all equals out ideally.
@TaodeHaas History has shown that "Neo-liberalism", never reaches the ideal. America is that example where the monetary system of economic management has created a large gap with "haves" and "have nots". In Australia, we we did have governments that had a good hold on public utilities.
@TaodeHaas In Australia both LNP and Labor operate under"Neo-Liberal economic principles. However, labour tries to operate social focus without the support and control of public utilities that should be funding social focus. Labor alternative is to heavily tax.
@TaodeHaas In Australia our governments cannot effectively control our public utilities as they are privately owned and more importantly foreign owned. They both have tried to operate a social trended focus without the certainty of owning utilities.
