Last night, got to see one of the best plays I’ve seen in a long time. What the Constitution Means To Me, by the brilliant @heidibschreck. Heidi is amazing in it, as is @oliverbutler and @BeingTdubs. Here they are with the indomitable @VAMNit 
If you can swing going, really do. It’s an original take on our Constitution, made deeply personal. What Heidi has done is similar in some ways to what @birbigs did in #thenewone – but instead of parenthood, its about the structure of our govt and its impact on individuals.
I’ve taught Constitutional Law over 20 times. I’ve never seen it looked at in such a fresh way. Watching it, I had the same feeling as when I first saw @hamiltonmusical – thank god for this nation’s diversity, which breathes life into a staid document.
The bravery of @BeingTdubs and @mirrorworm in the play are unbelievable. (Sorry in a prior tweet I interposed @mirrorworm and @oliverbutler -- the latter is the fabulous Director.)
Run, don’t walk, to see it. This is the kind of brave, fresh theater that we need more of. @heidibschreck is nominated for a Tony for best actress, and the whole thing has been nominated for best play. Very much hope they win.
Finally, if you are like me, and shocked and depressed at the state of the world, and just want to escape with @SHO_Billions or whatever you fancy, don't think that this is morose and only serious. It's also hilarious and poignant and uplifting too. A genuine work of art. END.
