Abu Hurayrah (R) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would congratulate his Companions on the arrival of Ramadan by saying: “There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month in which Allah (SWT) has obligated you to fast.”
He said, “During this month, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of hell are closed, and the devils are chained up. In it is a night that is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 9213 / al-Nasa’i, 2106).
We all experience moments when we’re not sure what we’re doing with our lives. We all experience moments when we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe we wonder if that light is even there.
Many of us have undoubtedly been struggling for weeks, months, maybe longer - but the month of Ramadan has come again, offering us a glimmer of hope.
Alhamdulillah. Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an - it gives us a chance to reconnect with the word of God. Ramadan is the month of mercy - it gives us a chance to remember and reflect on Allah’s immense kindness, generosity, and forgiveness.
Ramadan is the month of possibility - it reminds us that we can be better and gives us a chance to move closer to Allah, and to be more like the Prophet (ﷺ). May Allah (SWT) give us the ability to embrace this month and make the most of this blessed opportunity. Ramadan Mubarak!
