UUK's actuarial advisers are among the most highly regarded in the field. Employers are very well advised, as is UCU by First Actuarial. These actuaries jointly provided extensive input to the JEP👇. 2/

Chapter 9 of the JEP report from which I quote above reveals that Aon & First Actuarial proposed the specific recommendations of the JEP report. So they are in a very good position to judge how closely #USS has come to meeting these recommendations. 3/

Bottom line of Aon's analysis released today: "We believe Option 3 is a material movement compared with previous positions, and we welcome it." 4/

In their 'Closing Thoughts', Aon report that they regard Option 3 as "reasonably close to" the JEP recommendations 👇. 6/

I'm relieved to learn that my own analysis, in the blog above, of how close Option 3 comes to JEP, is confirmed by the analysis of the Aon experts who jointly crafted the JEP recommendations, along with First Actuarial. 8/8
