Arighty gang, I have too many tabs for Chrome to display again. Must be time to grab a bottle and … #tabageddon!

Like last time, I commit to reporting ALL my open articles, whether they speak to me or not. Here goes nothing:
Wherein @florianbrondel concludes dev teams should learn innovation skills. Will businesses really become Agile bottom-up? Hm.

I’m pretty sure there’s no such thing as being TOO good as a listener. I’ve kept this tab to keep challenging myself on listening skills, but #tabageddon <shrug> Time for a fond farewell.

The framing here doesn’t do it for me. I think @ntcoding and I might just have a difference of opinion on the value of humanity in sociotechnical systems. YMMV

Breaking the rules and not closing this one. I still intend to listen to all 14 interviews with authors of the Agile Manifesto. Badass or what? podcast.agileuprising.com/manifesto-auth… @AgileUprising
“The evidence for evidence-based management is almost nonexistent”

I guess the revolution is indefinitely postponed. :-(

Holy crap, did you know that quietly writing ideas on cards came from Total Quality Management?

I guess we turn into our own parents at work too.
Fascinating long read. P190+ is especially interesting, highlighting areas where there is a solid body of research around HR practices.

For example, there's abundant evidence that feedback and coaching works and performance ratings don't. Just sayin'. cambridge.org/core/services/…
“It seemed obvious that the individualised way we’d been designing digital products and services — to be 'delightful' or frictionless experiences, was not a helpful model when considering longer-term consequences...”

Y'all know my obsession with gov't #procurement, and it's horrifying that the UK is reporting this:

"2. Creeping concentration of mega-contractors and declining SME spending"

Luckily, countries like Ukraine & Korea are showing us the way!

Ohhh, here's another one I hate to close! I first came across this when I was researching why Standups work, and I LOVE the applicability to software teams, from a sports context.

Microcommunications make the team and allow for emergent leadership. championshipcoachesnetwork.com/public/415.cfm
I couldn't remember why I even had this open, since it had so many corporate BS flight triggers. Now I think it might have been a link in some L. David Marquet content.

The video was awful. The 4 Disciplines are not actually awful. the4disciplinesofexecution.com
Huh, @CodeforAus is adopting David Eaves's digital maturity model.

I have a deep skepticism of these models, but it's still a step in the right direction. We HAVE to figure out how to judge effectiveness of interventions. blog.codeforaustralia.org/no-buzzwords-j…
Seems Lean students don’t pay enough attention to “kotozukuri” - crafting stories to energize the workforce or literally, “making things happen.”

Storytelling isn't what I think when I think Lean, which is exactly the author’s point:

And with that, I've made it half-way through my article tabs (vastly increasing the proportion that is Slack :-/).

Guess I'll need another #tabageddon soon, but for now thanks for tuning in, and good night!
