Whenever I come back to SG, one of the first things I gotta eat is Hainanese chicken rice. If I go too long without it I start losing a certain part of my identity. You gotta eat it in one of these neighbourhood coffee shops / hawker centers
The second thing I gotta eat when I’m back in Singapore is char kway teow, ie fried flat noodles with cockles. As always, you gotta eat it in a hawker center for maximum atmosphere
And this is chai tow kway, aka carrot cake (white). It’s not actually carrot, it’s radish. Whatever. It’s delicious
