I think I have a case of mump.

Not mumps. Mump. Just one. One side of my jaw.

One side of my jaw thinks it’s Brad Pitt all of the sudden.

Maybe I should take some profile pics of that side before it gets worse or better.
Update: first, thank you for all of your concern. Kind of you to worry.

Having now given it more attn than I would have, I’ve narrowed the likely Dx down to benign inflammation of the parotid gland from either allergies, a cold or minor infection.

Will monitor but not worried.
p.s. having now learned how to clear a parotid gland, I no longer have a jawline like half a Brad Pitt.

This is unhelpful for my movie career.

Nancy Pelosi implied Trump is unwell and in need of an intervention.

Trump immediately responded with a bizarre, clumsy, awkward insistence that it’s actually Pelosi who isn’t quite all there.

Narcissists spend their days pretending to be infallible but inside they’re a roiling brew of weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

When someone pokes at one of the things they are the most afraid others will think of them, they tell on themselves.

They overreact. They flail.

It’s not uncommon for a narc to merely take the thing that just hurt them and throw it back at the other person.

They merely know that something hurt *them* and think it would therefore hurt the other person - even if the accusation makes zero sense in reverse.

Among the salient points (IMHO):

- Adds 17 new charges (I believe)
- All relate to Chelsea Manning’s hacks and attempted hacking
- Indictment includes detail

First Amendment Slippery Slopers are going to get all squishy about whether espionage is actually bad if the goal is to publish the espionage product.

That’s an argument unlikely to sway public opinion given people like Osama bin Laden were using WikiLeaks info to plot harm.

Further, the indictment lists out a multiple examples of people Assange willfully and knowingly endangered and likely caused to be killed because he simply didn’t give a sh** about anything other than harming the U.S.

Big but not surprising.

Per my past threads re: Assange, Ecuador’s new president was looking for a politically palatable way to rid himself of his inherited tenant.

The U.S. waiting until Assange was in Brit. custody to up the charges made sense.

What appears to have been right about this thread:

The general plot. Assange turned over to face extradition based on one charge; new indictments added.

What was wrong: indictments or planned indictments, by treaty, have to be disclosed pre-extradition.

Meaning, I was sloppy in suggesting the U.S. could ship Assange stateside then add indictments.

The extraditing country, the UK, requires knowledge of all planned charges before agreeing to extradition.

So, the process had to happen this way. Indictments added b4 extradition.

First off, YES, I was properly vaccinated as a child! However, I have rheumatoid arthritis (an auto-immune disease) and in order to be able to walk and function normally I take medications that suppress my immune system [2/14]
The good news is these medicines keep me feeling good most of the time. But the bad news is they increase my risk of serious infection. And with more and more people not getting vaccinated lately, immunosuppressed folks like me are especially at risk [3/14]

One more thing about the Patreon change: we need to remember that human beings are not rational actors, not even (or maybe especially) where economics are concerned.
The number of new creators who will be turned off by a jump in the average processing fees may well be muuuuch lower than the number of new creators who held back because under the legacy system, Patreon couldn't tell them exactly what the processing fee will be.
Patreon said they did surveys and research and whatnot and... having seen people complain about the variability... I think they might be on the right track? They can't make existing customers happy by hiking our fees but they can attract new customers more easily with static ones

I think @Twitter can build a @Linkedin replacement. Just a thought experiment. One lacks what the other has.
People have an incentive to sign up on @LinkedIn - it’s their digital profile, an easy to create “about me” website. However, why should anyone be active on LinkedIn unless they are looking for a new job, or have an update to share?
On the other hand, user acquisition for @Twitter is hard. “Do I need another social media account?!” However, Twitter is a much more sticky product. People keep coming back to it for news and updates once they get a hang of it.

1. Speaking and listening

-A great deal of insecurity comes from not being able to express yourself clearly

Learning how to speak is a critical skill that will serve you your entire life
Listening is the second part to this

paying attention to people, watching their body language and emotional expression, being patient and letting them speak

And Not treating listening as downtime from you talking
2. Thinking for yourself

this should probably be number one

do not let the crowd do your thinking for you, do not do things just to do them because they are popular

Do not take on beliefs and opinions because they are trendy

Before I lose the idea. R76 and wax museum challenge.
I'm thinking Jack as a journalist, challenged to do the "one night in a wax museum" thing. (Since he lost a bet in his journalist company).

His boss wants a segment of his experience or something so Jack takes a vid camera, sleeping bag, notebooks and some necessities
His bet requires him to set up in the 'murderers' section for maximum fear factor and what not. Jack admits he's a little scared cause everything looks so real.

One of the statues is a guy called Gabriel Reyes. The story was that he murdered people around the city.
