One day I would LOVE to run against @senatemajldr. Because I wouldn’t sugar coat things. Life in Kentucky as it is right now SUCKS. Yeah, I said it. And no, I won’t apologize for it, because it’s true.

We are the laughingstock of America.
We. Are. Broke. People, especially in rural areas, are unemployed, underemployed, or working multiple jobs and barely keeping a roof over their heads and food on the table because the Federal and State minimum wage has remained unchanged for a DECADE.
The $7.25 minimum wage was laughable when it went into effect ten years ago. But the cost of basic life has increased exponentially since then and it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to live on a minimum wage income. And guess who is one of the biggest opponents of raising it?
Many Kentuckians have limited access to healthcare, if they have any at all. The Medicaid expansion as part of the ACA provided poor Kentuckians the opportunity to go to doctors. To have lifesaving treatments. To be able to take medications to control chronic conditions.
There are NUMEROUS Kentuckians who are alive right now because of Medicaid benefits they never had before the ACA. And Mitch McConnell has led the charge to repeal it. The GOP has tried to destroy the ACA at least 70 TIMES.
The coal industry and its downfall have left so many communities with high unemployment and in devastating poverty. And because it was expected that boys would grow up to work in the mines and girls would be housewives, there was little to no emphasis on education.
So when mines started closing, what were the out of work miners supposed to do? How were they going to pay the mortgage? Feed their families? Not that Mitch McConnell cared, because his wife was on a board that actively worked to destroy the coal industry.
Kentucky has a desperately underfunded and woefully insufficient education system. Our state pension plan is in crisis. If there wasn’t news coverage about the strikes, he wouldn’t know anything about it. He is woefully out of touch with the people he is supposed to represent.
Instead of doing what is best for the people of Kentucky, @senatemajldr is profiting off of their suffering. He doesn’t vote with Kentuckians in mind, he votes with his next paycheck in mind. He actively works to make the rich richer and the poor poorer.
When the person who is supposed to represent your state’s interests has no idea what is actually happening in the state because he’s too busy being bought off by corporations and the NRA, that’s a problem. When he actively works against Kentucky’s interests, that’s a problem.
When our state representative votes against a livable wage, votes to cut social safety nets, votes for tax cuts for the wealthy and tax increases for the middle class, he’s not representing Kentucky. He’s representing America’s elite.
When you’re a cancer patient on Medicaid, but you lose your coverage because your representative is willing to let you die because he gets a huge payday if the ACA is repealed...THAT’S. A. PROBLEM.

@senatemajldr doesn’t care about Kentucky. He cares about Mitch McConnell.
And if you think I’m exaggerating, here’s an analysis of his voting record...
