There is no justification for OBC reservations. The Mandal report is a complete fraud—it uses a bad premise, a faulty methodology and has glaring data errors. There is justification of SC/ST reservations and it should continue with the creamy layer removed, so the poorer benefti.
It will be best if OBCs themselves lead the charge to scrap this and ask to be freed from this colonial "caste" straightjacket. So-called OBCs have been wealthy merchants and artisans, warriors and kings.
So do economically weaker Brahmins. The fraudulent OBC quota should be scrapped to make space for economically weaker among all sections.
They will be demonized no matter what you do. The aim is different. It is to demonize Hindu society for conversion.

There is precedence for groups wanting to not be called “backward.” It is only toxic victim politics which made people clamor to be called “backward.”

Maybe @narendramodi can start a proud “opt-out” scheme for quotas, as he did for gas subsidies.

Lot of OBCs are succeeding in the General Category. Why would they want this “backward” patta around their neck? Many will discard it and say they succeeded without that.
Quotas divide Hindus far more, that was the original intent.

This is a really good point. Any social scheme must be driven by solid statistics. What is the measure that quotas are effective? What metrics do they track? What data will show they are no longer needed?
