It seems like House Dem leaders are tricking the caucus into playing a rigged game: suggesting they’ll pursue impeachment once pro-impeachment forces “make the case” and convince a majority to support it, while simultaneously going on Jimmy Kimmel to argue against it.
It would be fair to challenge pro-impeachment forces to move the needle. But it’s a scam to challenge them to do so while having your highest-profile Democratic leaders argue against impeachment.
Given that House Dem leaders are joining Trump, Fox & Congressional Republicans to argue against impeachment, it’s surprising to see support as high as 38% (vs 19% when Nixon’s impeachment started). But Dem support is only 65% - that’d rise quickly if Dem leaders made the case.
