I genuinely wonder if it ever occurs to people who write things like this to stop and think, even for a second: “maybe I’m not alarmed because I am literally the last person who will be severely affected by any of the things other people are alarmed about.”
Worth noting that the author telling us not to be alarmed worked for Senator Bob Kerrey, who had this to say about his vote to repeal Glass-Steagall in 1999.
