Planning a girls weekend with my best friends from college is making me so nostalgic. We met in 2004 on the same first year honors residence hall floor. Now they’re all MDs & I’m a PhD. I’ve seen them all individually, but we haven’t all been together in 5 years.
We all watched & loved Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in college & even sent around a traveling notebook one summer. Our friendship is honestly a little bit like movie material. 4 successful women of color living in 4 time zones still maintaining our connection.
I want to watch every girl friend group movie right now. Girls Trip, Bridesmaids, Wine Country, Now & Then...what else?
I recently watched #SomeoneGreat too & loved it. I am SO into modern women’s friendship films that include women with careers, women of color & queer women, just loving the shit out of each other & lifting each other up.
Tweeted this elsewhere but: For real, a casting director couldn’t do better than my actual real life diverse friend group: 4 WOC of different races, 2 of whom are first generation Americans, 1 of whom is queer, 3 of whom are moms, all of whom have advanced degrees & careers.
