Some of you may have heard me talk about this before but I have reached peak DONE WITH YOUR BULLSHIT.
In addition to being an absolute garbage boss, and firing one of my best friends for being gay and forcing me out of his company for the same, the CEO of Adagio Teas is now preventing my friend and former coworker from getting a mortgage.
FUCK YOU MICHAEL KRAMER. YOU ARE A PETTY PIECE OF SHIT AND A LIAR.
You want to talk about being a good ally? STOP GIVING THIS GARBAGE HUMAN YOUR MONEY.
I KNOW THEIR PRODUCT IS GOOD. I DRANK IT AND PEDDLED IT FOR TWO YEARS, BUT THE MAN WHO RUNS THE COMPANY IS A HOMOPHOBIC, TRANSPHOBIC, ABUSIVE PIECE OF TRASH.
Also, hey while I'm riding the rage wave, here's some of the other stuff he did during the two years I worked for Adagio.
Told a friend who worked at the downtown store that her new haircut made her look like "his favorite porn star."
During the "polar vortex" a few years ago, our heat went out and it was -20 outside and 40 degrees INSIDE the store. Since the store I worked at is in a mall, we weren't allowed to close without permission from the owner.
SUPRISE. WE STAYED OPEN. FOR MULTIPLE DAYS. We had a space heater that wasn't doing nearly enough (and was a fire code violation) and eventually we were all so miserable with no customers and no heat that we just curled up on the floor around the space heater.
He then emailed the manager to ask why we weren't working because we were all huddle around the space heater and THREATENED TO FIRE US OVER THIS.
Also, lest you have the impression that Adagio was ever queer friendly because of the fandom blends, he told my manager on more than one occasion that he hates the fandom blends, he hated that we sold them in the store instead of just online
He only allowed it because they made money. Adagio, hates queers, but they'll gladly take your queer money.
During the World Tea Expo (yes it's a thing, we're nerds) a man approached my manager and asked if Michael still owned the company, she said yes and the man gave her his card and to pass it along and they left saying, "He knows what he did."
He also believed that it was ridiculous that we couldn't increase our profits 40% year over year, while actively pitting the brick and mortar stores against the online business.
Also apparently he harassed an underage employee after I left. The following screencaps are from my previously mentioned bestie. 
Shortly before I "left" the company I had plans to move. Suddenly I didn't have a job and needed to find a way to support myself in the interim months before my move so I attempted to cash out my 401lk.
My 401k company needed proof that I was no longer employed at Adagio before they could let me cash out my money. GUESS WHO REFUSED TO CONFIRM THAT I WAS NO LONGER EMPLOYED BY HIS COMPANY. EVEN THOUGH HE IS THE ONE WHO FORCED ME OUT.
The day after I quit I got this email, because apparently this piece of shit felt he had the right to tone police me after forcing me out of his company for my queerness.

And if my friend is talking about the employee I think he is, I heard from another friend/former coworker that this person is nonbinary and was afraid to ask to use the correct pronouns at work because they knew it could put their job in jeopardy.
Y'all I am so overwhelmed with how this has blown up. Thank you all so much for spreading the word. I have been so fucked up about this for the past 2 years.

I have no problems with any other person at Adagio other than it's CEO. I was never mistreated by anyone other than it's CEO. The company on a whole, is great. They put out a great product, they use ethical resources and go above and beyond fair trade standards.
I know and consider myself friends with the woman who personally selects and tastes all of their teas. She is a wonderful person filled with joy and light and given the chance she will talk to you for hours about how much she loves tea.
The woman who was my manager for 90% of my time while employed at Adagio was an amazing boss who taught me and my fellow employees so much about teamwork and leadership and I have taken those skills with me to future jobs.
In the two years since I have left the company I have kept in touch with almost all of the people I met there. Two of them were my roommates for a time and I talk to my former manager at least once a month ON THE ACTUAL PHONE to catch up.
But Michael Cramer is an abusive employer. I saw my manager reduced to tears after getting off the phone with him. He is actively stopping a friend from buying a house with her new husband.
Since starting this thread another former employee has since reached out to me to let me know of the gross comments he made about her body when she worked with him.
The same person, who wishes to remain anonymous at this stage, has this to add:

The following statement came to me from a current employee who wishes to remain anonymous because they are queer and fear for the safety of their job. I have broken it into several chunks to make it easier to read.
I was asked by @crosberg if I had any other former employees who would be willing to go on the record about any of the claims I made in this thread so I reached out to my friend Danielle, who was the 3rd person there the day we had no heat and were huddled around the space heate
Not only did she get back to me and yes she was willing to corroborate the story on record, she also sent me the following message, which I don't even have words for I am so horrified.
TW: Sexual Harassment // "The second time I met him, I was coming out of the bathroom and he was in the back room, I think waiting for [name redacted] to get something. He scolded me for taking time away from my shift, and I retorted back
TW: Sexual Harassment // ...that I had to change my tampon, sorry for not bleeding all over your floors. He then looked me up and down, and blocked the door when I attempted to squeeze by him. He called me "fiesty" and said good thing..."
TW: Sexual Harassment // "...I was on my period because that way he knew why I was wearing such a "delicious" skirt. I tried again to squeeze by him, and he brushed his hand along my thigh as I moved out of the door."
Update: Apparently, "I don't want to help her because she was a bad employee" was enough confirmation to the loan processor that my friend did in fact work for the company.
Her closing was delayed because of Michael's bullshit, but her mortgage approval has gone through.
Also I'd like it to be known that at this point I have not been contacted by Michael or anyone from the company, nor have any of my former coworkers that I have been in touch with.
Still waiting on any kind of response from @AdagioTeas about why Michael thinks its okay to violate OSHA or try to fuck up his ex-employees lives financially. Oh wait, no I'm not, because he's as cowardly as he is petty.
