I’m sorry can someone explain something to me:we know Gove took cocaine and he’s getting deep flak for it; we know Johnson did the same (and was mayor in charge of the Met, enforcing anti drugs policies) but it seems to be no problem for him? Why? Because he told a joke about it?
In 2008, Johnson admitted that his earlier account given in 2005 on @haveigotnews was incorrect. He had previously said:
“I think I was once given cocaine, but I sneezed and so it did not go up my nose. In fact, I may have been doing icing sugar."

Yesterday my colleague, @robpowellnews was “guided” towards the HIGNFY explanation. But given that was said in 2005 and the Marie Claire exhange was deliberately an updated riposte to that account, that makes no sense at all.
I think it’s good to have honesty from politicians about drugs. But if something is a problem for one, surely it’s a problem for all? The idea of it simply being “priced in” for Johnson and not for Gove is deeply unsatisfactory.
