@Twitter @ADL 2...that @twitter is easily manipulated by racists and Nazis - yet let white supremacists use the pepe hate symbol without issue - yet take down an account showing a book reviewed by @JoeConason @rickperlstein and other greats shows they will kowtow to scum who attack authors.

Today's a good day to watch and see how alt-righters try to appropriate a symbol in real time.

Right now, 4channers and Proud Boys are trying to turn the Star of David into an ironic alt-right signifier.
I've written before about how a key difference between capital-N Nazis and alt-right radical white supremacists is the desire for mainstream acceptance, which requires plausible deniability around antisemitism in particular.

Disingenuous irony is a key way the Proud Boys and other alt-right radical white supremacists maintain that plausible deniability.

Take the 👌 symbol, for example.

The "I'm Rich & Afraid of Everything" crowd of far-Right TV pundits is horrified DC rabble protested outside of Tucker Carlson's house tonight + Twitter has now suspended @SmashRacismDC from the platform. Carlson has long history of working with Alt-Right + white nationalists.
In May, it was revealed that the Daily Caller, Tucker's online publication, had published up to 20 articles from Alt-Right neo-Nazi David Hilton on "antifa, George Soros, "identity politics" + "cultural Marxism." One column was titled "Donald Trump Is America’s Julius Caesar."
Then in September, another Alt-Right author who wrote 'No Campus for White Men' was fired by Tucker's Daily Caller, Scott Greer. Greer in his spare time was also writing for Richard Spencer's publication Radix. rightwingwatch.org/post/white-nat…

La rana Pepe fue creada en 2005 por Matt Furie, un chico que publicaba comics online con los que se ganaba un dinerillo para pagarse los estudios. En 2017, Furie tuvo que "matar" a este personaje por la apropiación que ciertos grupos de la derecha estadounidense hicieron de este.
Todo surgió a raíz de un tuit de Donald Trump, que compartió una imagen donde se le veia caracterizado como la rana Pepe. La ilustración provenía de algunas webs de la alt-right, que hicieron campaña a favor de la presidencia de Donald Trump. Espera, ¿sabes qué es la alt-right?
