I've heard often - from CBC types and others - that the CBC is obsessed with what it calls 'balance'. They're not much interested in explaining things. 2/
He-said-she-said, opinions-differ-about-the-shape-of-the-earth, partisans-shouting-at-each-other panels are not regrettable mistakes; they're what the CBC wants. 3/
The CBC lives in fear of being accused of not representing an alternative viewpoint, even if that alternative is stupid and wrong. As far as they're concerned, it's not their job to make that call. 4/
The CBC would never run 8 minutes of @Luc_Godbout - or anyone - explaining things without representation from an idiot. Because balance. 5/
So that's my explanation for the dreadful job the CBC does in covering economics. But it's not an excuse. 6/6
