Because Trump tweeted about market highs, some very random, and extremely useless, observations (mini thread). I emphasize that this information is of relatively little - possibly no - value other than curiosity.
Obama was re-elected in 2012 without having had a single new $SPX high in his first term - a total oh-fer. The first new $SPX high under Obama was recorded on March 28, 2013 @ 1569. That seems rather remarkable to me.
Despite not having had a new high through his first term, the $SPX went on to record 127 new highs during Obama's second term.
Since Reagan was inaugurated, the $SPX has recorded 710 new highs - about 38% of them came under the Slick Willy administration (268/710). W. also went a first term w/o a new high, his first not coming until May 30, 2007, though he had support for his Middle East adventure.
