My colleague @zackbeauchamp attended the National Conservatism conference (I wasn’t permitted to do so) and heard Amy Wax speak. vox.com/2019/7/17/2069…
As Beauchamp notes, Wax cites John Derbyshire in her paper (who was fired from NRO for a bananas racist piece). But she also approvingly cites Jared Taylor.
Jared Taylor is a white nationalist, editor of the outlet American Renaissance and occasional spokesperson for the Council of Conservative Citizens, which described black people as a “retrograde species.” vox.com/2018/8/22/1776…
When Dylann Roof cited the CCC as his inspiration for murdering nine people, he said, "Our site educated him. Our site told him the truth about interracial crime. What he then decided to do with that truth is absolutely not our responsibility.” nbcnews.com/storyline/char…

So, in other news, something I am working on is avoiding “nutpicking” — finding the most bananas example of a certain group and extrapolating that that is the group itself. So I’d like to preface the following by saying that this is not general of the conservative movement.
But today the Journal of American Greatness (a publication that is attempting to put meat on the bones of Trumpism, so to speak) published this “poem,” by someone using a pseudonym. It is entitled “Cuck Elegy."

One of the truly great things about America is that it was in fact founded by virulently racist white men, but those racist white men created a document in the Constitution that could not exist simultaneously with either state-supported enslavement or Jim Crow.
Frederick Douglass broke with his initial political allies (the Garrisonites who believed that the Constitution was an inherently pro-slavery documentation) on this matter. He used the Constitution to whack pro-slavery Americans over the head with their own hypocrisy.

So, an interesting thing I contemplate often is how anti-Semitic rhetoric gets into the “mainstream” so to speak. Here’s an example:
Where did Lauren Southern get this story about Jews creating t he Canadian Nazi Party to provoke hate crimes? From neo-Nazis, including a Canadian neo-Nazi named John Beattie, founder of the Canadian Nazi Party.

Several journalists writing about the National Conservatism Conference have relied on @zackbeauchamp's reporting below, which accuses Amy Wax, one of the speakers, of making "an outright argument for white supremancy." In fact she made no such argument. vox.com/2019/7/17/2069…
In particular, journalists (and now student activists at Wax's home institution, Penn) have been quoting Beauchamp to the effect that Wax "explicitly advocated... 'the position,' as she put it, 'that our country will be better off with more whites and fewer nonwhites.'"
Zack misunderstood this passage from Wax's paper, and Wax did not say what he claims she said. Wax advocated an immigration policy that favors immigrants with cultural affinities to the U.S. She emphasized that the position she was defending "doesn't rely on race at all."

Prop 1: The church is the agent of Christian universalism. Only the church can overcome divisions and restore unity to the human race.
Prop 2: America is a nation, not a church. Rejecting this has led to “delusions of an American-led liberal empire.”

That's an easy one, Julie. My old neo-con friends have had the ear of the donors and the run of the best-funded conservative institutions in DC since the mid-1990s--25 years. Our nationalconservatism.org conference is dramatic proof that all this is now changing.
There were already signs of change, most obviously the closing of @BillKristol's Weekly Standard. But the National Conservatism Conference is something entirely new: It presents a positive, constructive vision of what a nationalist conservative discourse could look like.
We have 46 speakers at the conference, a broad tent embracing many perspectives. People who'll disagree, debate each other. But we're all (or almost all!) national conservatives: We're united in rejecting a dogmatic, universal liberal empire as the aim and end of "conservatism."

That image was posted by @peterbrimelow 's V-Dare. It's a tool for stirring up hate and disgust against me and what I stand for. I can't say I'm surprised. Given what I think about the race theories that are so important in those circles, they were never going to like me much.
I understand that Brimelow and maybe a few others are insulted that I didn't want them at the National Conservatism Conference. Fair enough. Regardless of who you are, it is insulting not to be wanted.
