Look at that. So now my blurred features have been turned into a meme for circulation by the white-identity types. Repeat after me, boys: "Hazony's the Gatekeeper."
That image was posted by @peterbrimelow 's V-Dare. It's a tool for stirring up hate and disgust against me and what I stand for. I can't say I'm surprised. Given what I think about the race theories that are so important in those circles, they were never going to like me much.
I understand that Brimelow and maybe a few others are insulted that I didn't want them at the National Conservatism Conference. Fair enough. Regardless of who you are, it is insulting not to be wanted.
But my opposition to mixing nationalism with race theories has been explicit every step of the way. It's explicit in the conference announcement and on the website. You don't have to agree with me. Still, it takes some nerve to pretend I've been anything but open about this.
I also don't like the little lies involved in revving up the attack on me. For example, I don't like the claim that Brimelow received a "personal invitation" to the National Conservatism Conference and that it was later rescinded.
There's no truth to this. Brimelow got the same generic email blast that tens of thousands of other people got. He was on an email list anyone can sign up for, so he got a generic invitation. No one involved with the National Conservatism Conference ever considered inviting him.
Likewise, I don't appreciate the claim that the Brimelows paid to attend the conference. There's no truth in that either. They never paid any fees. No one considered registering them. I understand you're insulted and lashing out. But show some character and stick to the truth.
The truth is that the Brimelows didn't even offer to pay their way. They requested two heavily subsidized tickets (explicitly marked "subsidized") to come to participate in a conference that was advertised as being "in stark opposition to political theories grounded in race."
If I were Brimelow I would've read that and said: "Oh, Hazony and his friends want to develop their own ideas. I don't agree with them but let's see what they come up with." I wouldn't have applied for subsidized tickets. And if turned down, I wouldn't have made a scene about it.
Brimelow chose to go public with this. Why? Maybe because he's insulted and doesn't have the character to roll with the punches. Or maybe putting on this show was the whole idea from the start: He wanted an ugly scene in which he could play the persecuted martyr.
Either way, what's coming from Brimelow and his fans is a lot more of this: Ugly memes, little lies, misrepresenting my views, personal smears. What's really at stake is this: They're afraid. They're afraid my ideas are gaining traction. They've got to find a way to stop that.
P.S. They've already posted another meme on V-Dare. They're really hitting stride now.
