This is a compilation of threads previously done on the contributions made by Sri Vyasatirtha in philosophy, empire & societal development.

1. First let us begin with one of his contributions to the society as gleaned from Tumbaruguddi inscription >>
2. Sri Vyasatirtha's multipurpose donation made to Tirumala temple that not only enriched temple treasury but also caused the development of tanks, irrigation channels, cultivation, employment etc.

3. Further contributions made in the field of water management in drought hit Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.

4. Sri Vyasatirtha's role as a guide to 6 Vijayanagara emperors, from Saluvara Narasimha to Achyuta, in the realms of AdhyAtmikata & rAjanIti.

5. In the field of academics, Sri Vyasatirtha established two universities & acted as their kulapati.

6. Sri Vyasatirtha's contribution in pUrva bhArata (eastern India) in building Bhakti movement.

7. Sri Vyasatirtha's generosity in patronising an extremely talented poet with humble origins.

8. An invaluable & one-of-its-kind of contribution by Sri Vyasatirtha that merged bhakti rasa with vIra rasa. The installation of 732 unique Anjaneya pratimas across dakshiNa bhArata.

9. Finally, how his illustrious successor Sri Srinivasa Tirtha, displayed the finest contribution of his great Guru through the iconography etched on the Brindavana.

10. It must be noted here that before and after and during the times of Sri Vyasatirtha, many Gurus from other schools of Vedanta have done great service to the society & people. Few threads made by my good friends follow in subsequent tweets.

16. Let there be mutual respect & reverence for Gurus from all schools of Vedanta & Agama. May the great Gurus bless us all with the very Dharma that made them to impact the society of their times & made the masses to not to leave Dharma.

1. Today is the 409th ArAdhana of Sri Vadiraja Tirtha who appeared on earth in physical form for 120 years. He witnessed the fate of Vijayanagara Empire from c.1480-1600. This thread is about his unique contribution to the world of Samskruta literature titled "tIrtha prabaMdha.'
2. Vadiraja was a prolific writer in Samskruta, Kannada & Tulu languages. Authored some of the unique works such as lakShAlankAra that offers meanings for 1 lakh important words of Mahabharata.
3. Sri Vadiraja occupies a special place in the world of Dvaita literature for writing full-fledged 'kAvyA-s' that are rich in form & expression. 'rukmiNISa vijaya' is the best example of his kAvyA-s. His 'bhUgoLa varNana' is a special treatise on astronomy & geography.

1. A 'katha' told by the elders in my childhood. Its a story of an orphan who remained unlucky even after a divine intervention tried helping him.

The reason for recollecting this story is given at the end of the thread.
Here is the story....

2. Once there was an orphan living in a hamlet all alone. Begging for alms was the only means for him to fill his tummy. He was traveling to a nearby town by traversing a frightening forest for begging.
3. Very early in his life, he once heard from a Pauranika that by chanting the name of Parama Shiva, any fear can be driven away. Orphan believed it wholeheartedly. He made it a practice of chanting "Shiva...Shiva" while crossing the dreadful forest in the morning & in evening.

1. Recently a heated debate raged over a Telugu piece on Sitadevi. The person who wrote that is a Xtian missionary & a known Hindu hater. I didn't read that piece but read the FB updates put up by few friends.
2. This thread is not about that worthless piece by a bigoted Xtian but about the ancient & proven method to be adopted to understand our paurANika & aitihAsika anecdotes.
3. Every paurANika & aitihAsika narrative will have two sets of backgrounds.

(a) prasanga [context]
(b) prasakti [connection/relation]

One context can have multiple connections & sometimes a prasakti itself could be a context within!

Now a days, throughout the world Pakistan is the only country having less than 1% electricity production from coal despite of the fact that we've ranked 7th in the world 7th for coal reserves. The total coal reserves of #Pakistan is estimated to be about 186bn tons

1/ The issuance rate for Ethereum has been a constant talking point for years now. We can track discussions about a block reward reduction back to the 22nd of December 2016 when EIP-186 (github.com/ethereum/EIPs/…) outlined 3 possible issuance reductions and related schedules.
2/ This initial thread spurred lots of discussion in the community & many people joined in to offer substantive research on how a reduction in issuance would affect the security of the network. Discussions on this thread dropped off around August 2017 & continued in other areas.
