It's no exaggeration to say that the killing of the Oceans during this extreme phase of corporate capitalism is happening at terrifying speed.

Extinction now looms for much ocean life.

This destruction also threatens the lives of billions of humans.

The drought of 1930 created the great dust bowl & the migration to CA by 1934, an estimated 35 million acres of formerly cultivated land had been rendered useless for farming, another 125 million acres, an area roughly 3/4 the size of Texas—was rapidly losing its topsoil.
On May 11, 1934, a massive dust storm two miles high traveled 2,000 miles to the East Coast, blotting out monuments such as the Statue of Liberty and the U.S. Capitol.

Guns save lives. They do, sometimes. But far more often, in America, they take lives, dozens of lives, hundreds of lives, thirty thousands lives per year on average.

The number of lives saved by guns, compared to the number of lives taken by gun violence is a ratio so wide as to be utterly insignificant. Particularly when you consider that in the rare cases where a gun does saves lives...
