“Reducing violent crime in Baltimore is job one.  It’s what we in law enforcement think about morning, noon, and night” said U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur.
“We will continue to do everything we can to prosecute the violent criminals who wreak havoc in and terrorize Baltimore’s neighborhoods.”
“Today our team is on-site in Baltimore to collaborate with local law enforcement officials in their mission to improve public safety and drive down violent crime,” said Jon Adler, Director of the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
“Through the Public Safety Partnership, we are committed to fulfilling the Attorney General’s priority of supporting local law enforcement combat violent gangs, felonious firearms use and drug trafficking,” added Adler.
“Reducing violent crime in Baltimore will require the hard work and dedication of people on the local, state and federal levels. This partnership is exactly the kind of collaboration that is needed to help make Baltimore a safer city,” added Superintendent Harrison.

Maryland U.S Attorney Robert Hur announcing indictments of 90 defendants in four recent federal drug cases across the city.
Hur said part of his agency’s efforts to lower crime in Baltimore is focusing resources in neighborhoods with the most violence. Cases are result of police, federal agents and prosecutors collaborative efforts.
As of July 31st, federal prosecutors have indicted 215 defendants under its crime strategy. Last year, the office said indicted a total of 246 defendants in violent crime cases.

A straight "attitude arrest." Black people have to fear beating and arrest simply for respectfully challenging the action of a police ofcr. These Black Codes - which deny Black people full citizenship in interaction w/law enforcement - must end.

This heart-wrenching piece by @AlecMacGillis about violent crime in #Baltimore is worth reading twice. There are so many points here that warrant their own story to fully understand how this city came to this moment.
I'd love a series that would allow Alec & other reporters to pull some of these strands and go deep, as Alec did on segregation & the cancellation of the Red Line, which he touches on here. That long form piece is an essential companion. placesjournal.org/article/the-th…
But there's more to explore about political leadership in the city and how it has failed public safety and law enforcement, about political dynasties that hung on too long w/o building young new leaders, abt a business community that allowed segregation to expand.

I've only had 10 minutes to look into this because I'm in the middle of other research. I wanted to pinpoint the Facility-1 they are referring to in Westchester County, which I haven't tracked yet. However, I did find a couple points of interest.
I randomly selected 5 of those indicted. 4 of the 5 live in apartments in the Bronx. The other one in Brooklyn. My guess, is the facility is at the south end of Westchester County. Jermaine Myrie worked at the Diocese of Brooklyn.

I’m starting a thread to document things I find in the FISA warrants that were just released. These will be in the form of observations I make as I work my way through it. First of all, the 412 pages includes all four warrants and the associated documentation.
Secondly, the first thing that stands out to me is that the FBI perjured themselves in the application for the warrant. Why do I say this? Because it includes this.
