1. This is a big victory for the brave and relentless Saudi women's rights campaigners, many of whom are behind bars for demanding the end of the male guardianship system
2. To have the right to drive, to travel, and to be treated as a full adult who doesn't need a guardian are fundamental rights, and a very low bar for reform. This is the bare, bare minimum of what rights women should have
3. The Saudi women's rights movement is a model civil rights movement in the Gulf. Much can be learned from the courage, resilience, and maturity of this movement and its campaigners. I know for fact that this isn't the end, it's only the beginning.
