NEW: 29yo Mauricio Berrera-Navidad of Damascus, Md. + 28yo Carlos Palacios-Amaya of Gaithersburg, Md. are accused of raping an 11-year-old Germantown, Md. girl.

STORY: One suspect orally, vaginally and anally raped the middle schooler on multiple occasions, authorities allege.
The victim recalled one instance where that same suspect "used his cell phone to video record the two of them having sex," police noted.

UPDATE: According to ICE, both suspects in this child rape case are living in the U.S. illegally.
Palacios-Amaya was removed from the U.S. in 2014 and re-entered on an unknown date.
Barrera-Navidad received a “final order of removal” in 2016.
Both men are Salvadoran nationals.

UPDATE: The MoCo Republican Party issued a statement saying in part...
“County officials will intentionally impede attempts by ICE to deport these men, and once they are released, they will be free to again threaten the safety of the most vulnerable Montgomery County residents.”

This morning I emailed Executive Elrich’s spokesmen a handful of questions, including if Montgomery County plans to abide by the detainers in this particular rape case.

UPDATE: MoCo Exec. Elrich calls the alleged rape of an 11yo girl “horrible.”
He also vows to notify ICE if/when the suspects post bond. Elrich says it’s standard county procedure for all “serious crimes.”
