The Texas State Rifle Association this morning sent its members an email with some select details of @GregAbbott_TX Friday round table before the Odessa shooting ....
One woman whose grown child was killed asked a WalMart exec why was there no armed security .... a man who was shot twice told Governor he wanted all assault rifles destroyed ....
That man’s mother, who was in the store, is licensed to carry, but didn’t have her snub-nose .38 with her that day ....
The man was critical of @GregAbbott_TX for not calling a special session on gun laws ....
There was discussion on background checks and El Paso delegation called for licensed carry of long guns (it’s legal to openly carry assault rifles in Texas)....
The TSRA says the license for long guns (assault rifles) “was not given serious table time.” The email wraps with a message to tell lawmakers “no new gun laws.”
Need to correct the day: The TSRA email was about the THURSDAY meeting in El Paso, not Friday.
Again, that was the Thursday meeting, not the Friday public safety meeting (that also met behind closed doors).
