Portugal’s Alentejo Coast. It's like Saint Tropez used to be in the 1950s before Brigitte Bardot or Ibiza before the wave of summer partyers. I was lucky enough to happen upon this tremendously beautiful (& affordable) place this summer. Here's what I saw. nytimes.com/2019/08/28/tra…

Here is Jason Martin, the abstract artist, who I met at his studio in Melides, Portgual. Fascinating guy, from London, who has made Portugal his home. Paints and makes wine here.
What a tremendously peaceful place. For those worried it will be overrun with tourists now that NYT wrote about it, there r extremely strong restrictions in this part of Portugal limiting development. They know what a special place they have & want to keep it that way.
