I'm at Water's Edge Brewery in Lake Ridge, Virginia tonight. Six of the seven VA House of Delegates seats here are held by Republicans. Tonight, that may change wildly.
Those seats in Prince William County, Virginia's second most populous, are a test of the anti-Trump grassroots movements spurred on by the Democratic party and progressive groups.
Of 8 groups, like @MoveOn, @BoldProgressive and @TheDLCC, that made endorsements in VA House races, 41% of their endorsements came to six Democrats challenging Republican incumbents in this county.
@MoveOn @BoldProgressive @TheDLCC These groups wanted to show investment in local candidates could flip districts gerrymandered by Republicans into Democratic hands.
@MoveOn @BoldProgressive @TheDLCC Tonight will tell one of two tales. 1) A bold, economic, progressive message that is locally focused will beat incumbent Republicans or 2) that message isn't enough to overcome low, off-year turnout, incumbency and gerrymandering.

It’s starting to look like prognostication of this race was very wrong and too conservative.
Dems were telling me late last week they hoped to pick up THREE Virginia House of Delegates seats. It’s going to be well more than that.
