Dear @rnz_news Don’t uncritically introduce controversial queer theory language into your state funded reporting. Feminists find the concept of ‘cis’ offensive: Women are women because they are adult human females (a sex), not because they ‘identify’ with an oppressive gender.
And while we’re chatting, don’t you think your readers deserve to know that the ‘researcher’ you’re quoting is not a scientist, so unqualified to comment on physiological sporting advantage, but is a transman. A potential bias worth mentioning, no? rnz.co.nz/news/national/…

Now tweeting notes from the 5th JY vs, Waxing ladies hearing I attended. Held yesterday, July 26/2019, at the BCHR Tribunal. This hearing consolidated three cases in which the respondents had not responded to the complaints filed by JY against them and did not attend the hearing
This is the last hearing of the 16 complaints filed by Jessica (formerly Jonathan) Yaniv for denial of waxing services, mainly genital waxing of JY's male genitals.

Note to Twitter: former name is relevant to hearing testimony
The majority of these complaints were filed against racialized women working from their homes who advertised their services on FB Marketplace.

Arrived to find that hearing has been moved to a larger more secure room.

JY's legal name is the "female" name they use on their
at trusted nerd Twitter account so I think okay to use that but IANAL. @JurisCameron was able to present evidence that JY has discussed elements (attitude toward immigrants) and similar refusal of services on their SM.
Sorry should have been elements of the case. Member reminded us that the BCHR Tribunal hearings are meant to be public. Very important. The pub ban was a rare exception, only warranted because of JY's complex identity (as presented by JY at the time pub ban was granted).
