John Minford, #SunTzu 9: 17 "If he is at a distance and provokes battle, he wants his opponent to advance."

Scaredy-cat, scaredy-cat, if you're so big and mighty, why don't you come over here and show us what you've got? Anyone can hide behind their cowardice. If you're so courageous, come show us what you've got.

Who remembers Goliath and his daily taunt?

"And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.

"If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us. And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together."

Obviously, Goliath knows with certainty he can defeat any Israelite they may send. So, he's taunting them to come fight him where he has the advantage. But something I never noticed before current studies of Master Sun, is the tactical situation. Check it out...

"And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them." So, what's Goliath's real purpose? Sure, to defeat a single warrior. But more, to get the Israelites off the mountain into the valley.

The life of King David spanned the turn of the millennium at about 1,000 BC or so. That's 500 years before Master Sun. Thing is, the compilers of the Old Testament did their work around 450 BC, which was at the exact same time as Master Sun's work. How about that?

They'd spent 70 years in Babylon. It was Persia that released them. Persia stretch to India, and the path from India to China was not an impossible thing. I know, I've mentioned my crazy global communications in the ancient times theory before. It's too fun to not guess about.

Could it be that the Bible's compilers read Master Sun? I say yes! And our passage today fits perfectly with Master Sun's perpetual guidance, fight downward. Goliath is tempting the Israelites to come down to the valley from their safe haven on the mountain side. Do you see it?

Five little stones he took. And one little stone went round and round. And the giant came tumbling down.

Tactically, what did David know? He knew that his aim was flawless. He practiced, and had killed lions and bears already. He knew he could shoot upwards, flawlessly.

The fact that he could bend down and gather stones from the brook at the bottom of the valley, and shoot upwards at the giant's forehead peeking out, and hit it deadeye bullseye gave David a tactical advantage that his lumbering giant enemy could not foresee.

You know, I've been reading 1 Samuel 17, where this story is told, ever since I was a boy in the 60's. I just read it again, and so should you. What a story! The fact that it perfectly illustrates Master Sun's guidance in today's verse is, for me, nothing short of stunning.

You have a Goliath. We all do. The funny thing to realize, amazing really, is how often they are cowards hiding behind what they wrongly think are impregnable advantages. And, as Master Sun teaches us, when they call out to you from a distance to leave your stronghold, beware.

@KateScopelliti Whenever you take your stand upon any one of those principles, you'll be in the position of strength, high up upon the mountain, ready to fight for America. Allow me to share my personal very own most favorite example.

@KateScopelliti It's #1, Remember The Forgotten Americans. Whenever I ask a liberal Democrat if they believe that there are Forgotten Americans, their heads explode. They go ballistic. It's simply wonderful. I LOVE asking them that question.

@KateScopelliti Technically, the Forgotten American is a simple idea. One person suffers. Another recommends a solution. The solution is always that a third pays the bill. The 3rd is the Forgotten American, he pays the bill. A suffers. B proposes. C pays. B = politicians, socialist politicians.

@KateScopelliti Now, think all the Democrats in their debates. It's so easy to call out Trump from that distant vantage point. Cohorts abound. Wait till they face him alone. He won't relinquish his high ground and they have none. No high ground. Nothing. Old, stupid ideas. That's all they have.

@KateScopelliti Go again. Who's your Goliath? What is your safe ground, high upon the mountain? If you don't know, friend, it's time to found out.
