“When I’m in the White House, working families will have a champion,” Warren says after thanking the Working Families Party for their endorsement today. #WarrenNYC

Warren talks about the 1911 Triangle shirtwaist factory fire, which killed 146 garment workers, most of them women. The tragedy led to a fight for workplace safety. #WarrenNYC

“When you see a government that works great for those with money and connections and doesn’t work much for anyone else, that’s corruption—plain and simple. It’s time to call it out for what it is,” Warren says. #WarrenNYC

Warren says that while she thinks Trump is corrupt, the problem didn’t start with him—and extends to both parties. “We must root it out and return our democracy to the people. And yes, I have a plan for that,” Warren says. #WarrenNYC

The more Warren explains her anti-corruption proposal, the more the crowd cheers. “We’re going to put a stop to it,” she says. #WarrenNYC

I’ve heard before that Warren is not as charismatic as some of her male rivals (*cough* sexism *cough*) but boy this crowd is eating her speech up. #WarrenNYC

Warren is name-checking her other big proposals:

- Medicare for All
- Green New Deal
- her wealth tax

The connecting thread of Warren’s speech has been how to return power to working people, including how to give them opportunities that have been denied because of inequality. #WarrenNYC

Warren started listing most of her plans. And I can’t keep up??? #WarrenNYC

“We need big structural change, Warren says. She adds: “I know it’s possible, because America has made big structural changes before.” #WarrenNYC

Warren has circled back to the story of the Triangle factory fire, to illustrate what it’s possible when people harness their power together. She names every major modern movement— from civil rights to LGBTQ+ rights. #WarrenNYC

“They persisted and they changed the course of American history,” Warren says. She adds: “We win when we meet the moment. We win when we stand up for what’s right.” #WarrenNYC

“This is our moment in history,” Warren says. “Our moment to dream big, fight hard and win.” #WarrenNYC
