Carole Cadwalladr is a fantastic, principled, and thorough journalist. Imagine this being written about a man -- who helped expose Cambridge Analytica, by the way.
THIS SHIT is what women are up against constantly, btw. She exposed one of the most important stories of this time in history, despite ongoing smears and threats and assholes in power trying to get her fired, and it's still never fucking good enough. Ask me how I know, boys!
I, however, am not "hysterical." Instead, I get to be an "arrogant" "maverick" and "intense," a "loose cannon," "batshit," and "kind of a cunt, actually." The descriptions change with the person, but they are always insulting. If you're a woman. If I was a man, of course, I'd be:
A "go-getter" (arrogant), "assertive" (kind of a cunt), an "independent thinker" (maverick), "an original" (batshit), and "smart" (intense.)
Oh, and "loose cannon" (loose cannon). I do admit I give off a certain "may stab you in your sleep if you piss me off" vibe but I assure everyone that has never happened
I generally don't care, except when some dipshit dude steals my ideas and then takes all the credit for them while smearing me behind the scenes (a special hi to my old employers! If you're reading this, you should know that reporters always talk to each other. Have a great day!)
