Arrangement of dolls during Navaratri at my cousin's place in Bangalore.
This is a traditional practice in Karnataka and also Tamil Nadu. Probably in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala too.
Dashaavatara, characters from Ramayana are generally depicted apart from many other things

It is a detailed and very meticulous work. And you get transported watching it.

With #Navaratri drawing to a close, taking a look at some of the well known Shakti, Devi temples in Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Apart from these temples, almost every village and small town has a guardian deity, the Ammavaru or Ammoru as we call them.
As per the Puranas, when Sati died, a grief stricken Shiva, carried her body, performing the Tandava in anger. When the gods implored Vishnu to save the world from Shiva's wrath, he cut Sati's corpse into pieces with his Sudarshana Chakra.
The places where parts of Sati's corpse fell on earth are considered as Shakti Peethas, sanctified by the holy presence of Devi Maa. There are around 51 Shakti Peetha of which 38 are in India, while Bangladesh has 5, Nepal 3, Pakistan 2, and Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Tiber 1 each.

July 10, 1806- The Vellore Mutiny one of the bloodiest ever revolts against British rule. Preceeded the 1857 Revolt, by around 50 years, but again not much known really.
Typically the 1857 Revolt, is often seen as the first large scale armed revolt against the British rule, and is often the most discussed one too. The Vellore Mutiny was one of the bloodiest ever, large scale casualties on both sides, brutal reprisals.
Vellore, a small city located in the northern part of Tamil Nadu, close to Andhra Pradesh border, so gets it’s name from the Velan trees surrounding it. Now known for it’s leather industry and the CMC Hospital, one of India’s leading healthcare providers.

Challenges in The Kerala Economy before floods. Every India state has some challenges and Kerala state is no exception. What is more surprising is that it has not been discussed in the Main Stream Media.
Whenever word Kerala comes in one's mind, we think of Tourism and Hospitaliy, God's own Country and the Most literate state among Indian states. But one should also look at the challenges it is facing.
1. Employment
The most surprising thing which I came to know is that despite Being among most literate states its successive Govt. has failed to address the issue of unemployment.
