When I was in Judicial Custody, why didn't they question me then. The ECIR was filed two years ago, what were they doing for two years. Till 5 September they didn't want custody and now suddenly they want 15 day custody. I strongly oppose this, Sibal for Chidambaram

Witnesses were available to them (ED) prior to Sept 5. They told the SC custody was urgently required and then when he surrendered they refused. Only demand is that this application for remand of 15 days should be rejected, Sibal

On September 5 we had said that we are yet to examine some witnesses and therefore his custody was not sought at the time. Last witness was examine on October 9 and filed this application on October 14.

Chidambaram has filed an application seeking certain facilities for his time in ED custody. This includes lodging at CBI HQ or other similar place, security, home food, western toilet, medicines and spectacles and family visit

SG Tushar Mehta says not opposed to demand for home cooked food, western toilet and medicines et al. Opposes request for AC room.

"We will take care of his security", Mehta added
