Just let me get this off my chest. Thread starts. If you’re a “fan” of Jim Rogers like I am, you’ll watch the various third-party produced video interviews in which he provides some insight into his investing thinking and experience./..
He has mentioned in more than one such interview his view about the prospects for the Japanese economy going forward. He says get out of there, go work somewhere else, it’s just going to get worse etc etc ./..
I disagree with him on that point. Japanese in general take great pride in being Japanese. They would rather stay on and prevent the economy from tanking, doing so with their own hands if necessary.
So I don’t think the end is imminent for the current generation of Japan’s population. They will survive, innovate, increase productivity, and create a new beast of an economy, rather than jump ship./..
I am not a huge fan of the Japanese, but I have to disagree with Mr Rogers on Japan’s future prospects. Oh, BTW, I am very poor compared to Mr Rogers. So you needn’t take my word for anything in this thread. /END
