I mean, think of those poor yo-yos who worked for Gov. Christie and moved some traffic cones at the GW Bridge toll booths to mess with the mayor of Fort Lee. They got convicted and sentenced to federal prison. 3/6
Their convictions may get reversed because, in essence, the feds had to rely on a hokey legal theory because there was no money involved—the corruption was so minor. 4/6
But what @realDonaldTrump and @RudyGiuliani were doing was millions of times worse. With the leverage of $400 million, they were committing an actual solicitation of a bribe, an actual attempt to extort, actual wire fraud, ... 5/6
... and no doubt other actual serious violations of federal criminal law.
