So RISC-V continues to be nonsense. I mention this because of the latest story about RISC-V continues to demonstrate nonsense.

RISC-V promises to be an open-source CPU, in which anybody can create a CPU without having to pay licensing fees to a company like ARM. SiFive is a RISC-V vendor with it's own designs that charges licensing fees like ARM. See the problem?
Why would you pay licensing fees to SiFive for a RISC-V design that doesn't work when you can pay licensing fees to ARM for a design that does work?
In any case, MIPS and PowerPC have open designs that you can use that likewise have no licensing fees. Why would you go with something expensive like RISC-V when you can instead just use MIPS?
RISV-V isn't a real thing until you can buy a cheap computer for $40 based on RISC-V running Linux/BSD. Until then, it's just vaporware. I'll bet that doesn't happen for at least 5 years.
