Some other things to know about Steven Menashi.

He's a WH legal aide to Trump. He's been working with Stephen Miller on immigration issues. He was legal counsel to Ed Sec Betsy DeVos when she rolled back Title IX protections for survivors of sexual assault on campuses.
Steven Menashi also said all this stuff.

It's worth highlighting Sen. John Kennedy's total cave on Menashi today.

Anyway, I'll stop prattling on about Steven Menashi yet again, but just wanted you to know his nomination now heads to the Senate floor and it looks like he's close to being confirmed to a lifetime seat on a U.S. circuit court.
Demand Justice, a progressive judicial advocacy group, is already planning to run digital ads to pressure a handful of GOP senators to vote no on Menashi.

Their targets: Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, Martha McSally, Cory Gardner, Thom Tillis + Joni Ernst. huffpost.com/entry/steven-m…

Well well. The Senate Judiciary Committee just postponed its vote on Steven Menashi -- again.

That's not a good sign for his nomination.
Who is Steven Menashi?

He's one of Trump's most controversial nominees yet for a lifetime federal judgeship. He's only 40 2) he refused to answer senators' ?s about his legal work for Trump and 3) he said all this stuff.
Some other things to know about Menashi, up for a lifetime seat on a US appeals court.

He's never tried a case. He's never argued an appeal. He's written piles of editorials attacking women's rights and diversity. He's been legal counsel to Stephen Miller + Betsy DeVos.

In this case, it was Justin Walker.

He's 37. He's never tried a case in court -- as lead or co-counsel. And in the 10 years since he graduated from law school, it's not clear how much he's been practicing law. huffpost.com/entry/justin-w…
Walker is the FIFTH Trump judge that Senate Republicans have confirmed with an abysmal "not qualified" rating by the ABA.

Suppose that Article VI had a further Clause, Clause 4, that stated, “no racial identity shall ever be the basis for a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”
Now, such a clause would prohibit the President from granting or withholding an office based on racial identity, and, in like vein, would prohibit the Senate from withholding consent to a nomination, or granting it, on the basis of racial identity.

WASHINGTON – Pursuant to last Friday’s request from the Senate Judiciary Committee, the administration instructed the FBI to conduct a supplemental background investigation with respect to the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
The FBI has now concluded that supplemental investigation, and the White House delivered the updated file to the committee at approximately 2:30 this morning.

I'm hearing from a source w/ knowledge that the White House will be announcing another slate of judicial nominees soon (joining the nearly four dozen announced so far in 2018), could come as early as today. Also hearing the list may include several New York nominees. Stay tuned.
And there it is, the White House just announced Trump's 14th wave of judicial nominees. There is one appeals court nominee, Ryan Nelson for the 9th Circuit — Nelson had been nominated to be solicitor for the Dept. of Interior, but hadn't gotten a final vote yet
