THREAD on the circumstances of Alex Chow's death.
We have examined nearly 300 reports of police movements from @hkmaplive and telegram groups that raise serious questions about police actions immediately surrounding his death. This map shows some of what we have found.
@hkmaplive The red squad (based on the colour of their helmet lights) arrive on Po Hang Rd and disembark at 12:56-57. We know that they then run to join blue/green squads by 1:01:15-55, based on i-Cable live stream. This video shows them arriving.

Not all of them did join blue/green.
@hkmaplive We have scouting reports saying ~70 police disembarked from 2 EU-Vans and 2 PTU-Minibuses. About 30 of these police ended up joining the blue and green squads between Sheung Chun and Kwong Cheun houses.
We also have reports of police at Kwong Sun House at 1:03. Within 50m of Chow
@hkmaplive Chow fell at 1:02-1:04 so this evidence strongly suggests that there were around 30-40 police officers right across the road from where Chow fell at the time of his fall.
@hkmaplive This video shows an animation of police reports minute by minute around Sheung Tak from midnight to 2am. It shows how/where/when the different squads arrived and some details of their movement.
@hkmaplive This is a similar animation but zoomed in to the carpark and only showing reports from 00:55 to 1:05, the minutes leading up to Chow's fall.
@hkmaplive From movements of Chow provided by the HKPF it is possible that he was a scout. That would explain why he was on that ledge, trying to observe the police movements. It's possible he lost his balance and fell, or that rubber bullets were fired at him and he lost balance and fell.
@hkmaplive The HKPF said that their officers were not aware that Chow had fallen until they came across firefighters administering first aid on him while they cleared through the carpark (at 1:15), however these reports suggest that he was likely visible to police at the ledge where he fell
@hkmaplive We need more details of exactly where he could be seen from (if anyone's visiting Sheung Tak soon please get in touch) but it is clear (from i-Cable) that Blue/Green squads were paying close attention to the carpark. It would be surprising if officers further down the road werent
@hkmaplive HK Police should be asked about the squad that was present near the roundabout Chow was overlooking at the time of his fall. Especially if they fired any less-lethal ammunition.

The HKPF would be the only people with this information and they need to be directly asked about it.
@hkmaplive The 'we' I keep referring to is this group:
Check it out if youre interested in more OSINT research about Hong Kong.
@hkmaplive I'd love to thank all the people (especially @_dorfy and @HkSmallpotato) who helped us translate all the police reports and code them in a spreadsheet.
