Thread ... A chronology of a smear [1 - 11]

1. On November 9th we predicted that a story would emerge in either the Daily Record or The Herald that would be used to smear the SNP during this general election campaign and that BBC Scotland would promote it ...
2. Six days later the Daily Record ran the following story ...

'Whistleblower claims child with cancer died after contracting infection from contaminated water supply at Glasgow hospital' ...
3. Within hours of the story appearing, BBC Scotland had included it in their news bulletins ...

4. We posted another tweet that day and predicted that the story would change. We predicted that the story would turn into one of coverup. That Unionists would be interviewed and add their own unnuendo and that the story would run for days on BBC Scotland ...
5. Within hours of our tweet BBC Scotland was broadcasting an interview with Labour MSP Anas Sarwar. The broadcaster began smearing Jeane Freeman. The story was already morphing from tragedy to one of coverup ...

6. That same evening the story appeared on Reporting Scotland and it's been manipulated into one implying coverup. The language used by presenters and reporters was designed to underpin this political message. The story was now politically weaponised ...

7. At 10:15pm that evening BBC Scotland tweeted what it claimed was an update. But wasn't an update at all as we pointed out in a response tweet. BBC Scotland was trying to keep the story going, but was clearly struggling ...
8. If a smear is to have any effect and embed, it has to appear on BBC Scotland more than one day. For that to happen there has to be a development. We tweeted the following prediction late Thursday evening ...
9. The first development came in the form of a call from the Scottish Tories for Jeane Freeman to resign. BBC Scotland seized on it and stuck it at the top of their news agenda ...
10. The second development was indeed as we predicted ... emotional. The mother of the child who had died tragically appeared in BBC news bulletins. Clips of the child were broadcast not just on BBC Scotland, but BBC UK ...
11. A two year old tragedy has been resurrected by the media. The family have had to relive the events. A child's tragic death has been politically weaponised. A decent politician who wasn't even in office at the time of the tragedy is having her reputation traduced.
