1/ The first version of @Baremetrics is now open source!

I built this over the course of a few weeks back in 2013 really to just scratch an itch. Turns out other folks had that itch too. 🙂

2/ We no longer use anything from this initial version I built, but we're publishing it to show how little you need to get started building a business.
3/ From a code-quality standpoint, this stuff is terrible. 🙃 But the reality is, the quality of code doesn't matter when you're just trying to prove an idea. Once I proved the idea, I promptly hired engineers who actually knew what they were doing. 🎉
4/ If you're an engineer trying figure out what to build or how to build it, I encourage you to just ship something. Don't get caught up in having "perfect" code. Just get your product out there and start getting real feedback from real customers.
5/ Hat tip to @shl for the idea to release it!

@shl 6/ The most interesting file (at least to me) is the Stat model where I just shoved every method for generating each metric.

Oh how naive I was in regards to how complex these really were to accurately generate. 😂
