1/ Why wife runs a community kitchen program at a local school here and texted this to me yesterday.
2/ Puker 1: Dared to chug 3 bottles of water followed by bottle of gatorade. Quickly this does not sit well & he almost instantly projectile vomits directly across the table on the kid across from him.

Puker 2: I mean, he just got vomited on. Of course HE then starts vomiting.
3/ Puker 3: A girl two tables down witnesses the carnage and begins projectile vomiting as well...poor weak stomach.

What'd they have for lunch? Chicken Pot Pie.

One of my daughters, who witnessed it: "The puke looked like vegetable soup." 😂
4/ Kids are the greatest. Especially when they're in groups daring each other to be really stupid.

Some construction workers in our neighborhood have been following my teenage daughters around in their creepy cargo van and verbally harassing them (saying some scary and sexually explicit things).
We've called the police and reported it, however there's not a ton they can do for "harassment" reports other than pulling them over and telling them to stop. And even then it has to basically be right after the incident.

HOWEVER...
Me being an Internet Professional™...I tracked this piece of shit down and now know his name, phone number and his business name plus I have photos of him (thanks Facebook!).

The question: do I plaster that stuff all over the internet? Or just wait and hope it dies down?

You think selling to small businesses and consumers is difficult? Try getting VCs to pay for things.

Getting Intros (baremetrics.com/intros-investo…) off the ground has been...educational.
Me: "Here's a curated list of startups looking for investment w/ all current & historical revenue data, growth rates, customers, industries & more. This will save you weeks of due diligence every month & save you hundreds of false starts."

VC: "Wait, I have to pay for this?"
We certainly have some adjusting to do on the product to balance the needs of both companies and VCs. But I've been really surprised at how many have straight up said "Yeah, we don't pay for things."

Physical or digital books?

Why?
To answer my own question, I prefer digital.

When I got a Kindle Paperwhite ~5 years ago, I drastically increased the amount that I read.

Much more portable, easier to read at night in bed, and I've always got the next book right there for when I finish one.
The ability to search my highlights, enlarge the type 👴🏻 and easily "carry" multiple books that I'm reading all in one place...I just can't beat it.

Here’s the true story of the incident that inspired Moby Dick. It involves: whales seeking revenge, animal extinctions, huge fires, castaways, death, and, of course, cannibalism. (and because it contains ALL THAT it is a touch longer than my usual threads, but please, join me.)
In 1819 the whaling ship Essex set off from Nantucket, set for the South Pacific. The seas to the West of South America were, at the time, very popular whale hunting grounds, and many whaling ships made the same trip from Nantucket that year. The Essex was one of the smallest.
Some basic info for you: Upon her departure in August, The Essex was 20 years old, held five small whaleboats (easily manoeuvrable open sided boats used for hunting a whale at a bit of a distance from the main ship), and a crew of 21 men.

How are Potholes formed?

The Wikipedia post basically outlines the issues as a failure in the fabric of the road due to moisture beneath the road surface & fatigue from vehicle load.

The article points more at snow as being the moisture enabling culprit but we obviously don't have snow in these parts.
'Snow' may therefore be substituted for another firm of precipitation - rain (and subsequently water).

Local outreach continues. Spoke to other parents at my kids’ school last night to confirm they’re voting Dem.

Learned tho of a new local strategy here where R candidates for local office aren’t naming themselves as R for fear of Trump backlash.

Know who you’re voting for.
To everyone who is saying “this isn’t local and it isn’t new”: have you ever heard of a 2 hour fundraiser where the party affiliation of the candidate was literally never disclosed and all qs avoided? Because that’s how hard they’re working to hide it in OC. Total evasion.
This says something quite big about how worried the R party is here about flipping every seat, federal, state and local.

Don’t be a naysayer against those who are working for clarity.
