1. Seems many people don't know much about #Bill10 & changes that it would bring. I went through it & added a few mini descriptions/comments to certain highlighted provisions. The idea is to help those who don't understand so they can form their own informed & independent opinion
2. The Constitution is our supreme authority but it derives its power & legitimacy from the people as a whole. Consequently, Zambians need to fully understand any proposed changes so that they can properly choose on their own whether to support or protest the changes
3. A large number of people avoid taking an interest in such matters as it is viewed as a political issue. It is a matter that affects everyone regardless of political affiliation & must be handled with objectivity and impartiality.

I’m nervous to talk about this because of what people will think or who might come for me, but it’s important.

So about ten years ago, during a really tough time, I got sucked into the new age community that Williamson is part of.
The kinds of things she said last night? It wasn’t new to me. I’ve heard all that before from people like her.

When you’re going through a hard time, they promise love is the answer & that you can find inner peace. I ate that shit up - even though my anxiety just got worse.
There’s so much pressure in that world to be Perfect, do all the juicing and cleansing and saging and healing and positive thinking. To buy all the books and the courses and the crystals and the meditation tracks.

Many people seem unaware of the impact of depression on cognitive function (i.e. thinking abilities).

I discovered this when a few small replies I made recently on someone’s thread garnered a total of a few thousand likes (and still counting).

Impairment of cognition — meaning, impaired ability to think, remember, solve problems, etc. — is quite common in depression, and is a very common cause of cognitive complaints in medical practice overall.

There are two major reasons depression causes cognitive problems. /2
The first is that it makes you slower.

When you’re depressed, everything looks grey, and there’s no hope, so it’s awfully hard to motivate yourself to do things.

That includes thinking about things & solving problems. You might do it eventually, but it’ll take you longer. /3

Many people don't know that John McCain held onto the fake Russian dossier about Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign because he was sure that Hillary was going to win. The fake Russian dossier paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign was an insurance policy in (1)
case Donald Trump won. When he did, John McCain released it and conspired to bring President Trump down after the election. It was PROVEN FAKE and it led to a fake FISA Warrant to investigate members of the DT campaign. John McCain is NOT a hero, he is a TRAITOR!!!!

Many people may not know much about life and times of Camille Paglia, so a brief introduction first. Camille Paglia is one of the most interesting and explosive thinkers of our time. She transgresses academic boundaries and blows up media forms.
2. Paglia is a registered Democrat, but above all, she is a free thinker. In the 2004 presidential election, Paglia supported John Kerry; in 2008, she supported Barack Obama; in 2016, she neither supported Hillary nor Trump. Keep this in mind for the rest of the thread.
3. An interviewer recently asked Camille Paglia to share her thoughts on Hillary and other potential Democratic presidential candidates for 2020, as well as Donald Trump. She did not pull any punches in her response. Of course, she never does.

People who go on about sales in comics, knowing NOTHING about comics history, not able to grasp that once there were a few publishers making comics with a lock on the industry, now there are HUNDREDS of companies, THOUSANDS of books, THOUSANDS of choices.
Bestseller list at comics distributors used to cover about 100 comics and that's about all that were published are every month, the distributor catalogues were barely pamphlets then they became tomes, there were only a few graphic novels for sale every month!
There is a long tail of published comics that simply did not exist 40 years ago, almost no indies, no webcomics, almost no graphic novels, very few books in libraries, little bookstore penetration. A small, simple system that is now broad and complex.
