like house prices and rents, ESPECIALLY in London - I think living here has definitely given me a false impression of the average

like, go on some property site and look at the rent on basic 1 bed flats in zone 2-3 somewhere
way out of most people's range but you think that because they're all priced that way there must be a sizeable chunk of people who can pay it

okay London has more high salaries than anywhere else but even so the majority of people here cannot afford something like that and end up in house shares or barely-livable tiny "studios" or just miles out from anywhere
shit's just fucked and nothing is affordable anywhere unless you're like.. pretty fucking well off
