A debate on hypotheticals versus situational awareness. Key to keeping Britain safe is not one of reacting out of fear but of taking appropriate action with force if necessary based upon current information and forward planning ... what horror! Press the button, nuke 'em now! ->
... the problem with this type of debate is it lends itself to spin and "strongman" politics. That desire to confidentially exclaim "I would press the button" or "I would order the action" to such hypotheticals should ban you for life from ever holding such a position ...
... the problem is those soundbites sound so much better than assessing the situation, determine what action is appropriate based upon the situation and forward planning before taking any action.

Personally, I'm glad to hear someone talk about thinking before military action.
