What makes a signature eCom experience for a brand? The details.

Look what @Glossier does. On the homepage *alone*, the attention to detail says so much about the high standards of quality for the product and customer experience.

It starts with a short "unboxing" in the hero.
It's subtle, but connecting to the customer's unboxing experience as the first thing they see on your site creates a sense of trust (nothing to hide) and excitement.

The Skincare Edit is the pinnacle of what we all wish our unboxing experiences felt like. Why not show out?!
Then we go straight into products. No brand narrative or lifestyle shots, and no shying away from putting the products front and center.

You guessed it - it helps to have great product design and photography.
Some brand messaging starts to show up next, but with two interesting dimensions added to the mix:

1⃣Brand messaging sets the stage for relevant products and @Glossier's beauty philosophy.
2⃣The model photography naturally connects to the messaging and the customer.
Even these little gifs on every card showing the product being used 🤩

And after all that we get the social proof thaaat... we probably don't need at this point.
Digital Product Design & Consumer Psychology:

Executing a digital experience to this degree comes from understanding your customer's journey through different touch points with your brand, and crafting an experience that can elicit a desired emotional response or action.
Now, if you've never heard of Glossier before, you probably won't convert the first time on the site.

But what impression has it left on you? I'd bet it's a positive one.

And now consider all the other touch points in the customer journey being crafted by Glossier.
if you know the designer there, give them a high five for more.

Oh yeah - don’t forget about retargeting ads as an effective and inexpensive way to re-engage people who have already been to your site.
