Republicans pretend Dems should let the courts (a coequal, not superior, branch) resolve the differences between the legislative and executive branches.

But LAST MONTH, AG Barr fiercely accused "overzealous" courts of wrongly interfering in "interbranch disputes." ...
1/
Here's Barr just last month:

"[T]he Judiciary has appointed itself the ultimate arbiter of separation of powers disputes between Congress and Executive, thus preempting the political process, which the Framers conceived as the primary check on interbranch rivalry. ***
2/
Barr (cont'd): "... [T]he prospect that courts can meaningfully resolve interbranch disputes about the meaning of the Constitution is mostly a false promise..."
3/
Barr: "How is a court supposed to decide, for example, whether Congress’s power to collect information in pursuit of its legislative function overrides the President’s power to receive confidential advice in pursuit of his executive function? ...
4/
"...Nothing in the Constitution provides a manageable standard for resolving such a question."
5/
Again, that's Attorney General William P. Barr to the Federalist Society's 2019 National Lawyers Convention, Nov. 15, 2019. ...
6/
tl;dr: Barr believes courts have no business in interbranch disputes, and instead should let Congress and the WH slug it out using purely political tools (which, of course, include impeachment).
7/
But when Congress does exactly that, Rs cry disingenuously, "Don't impeach! Wait for the (stacked) courts to decide!"

Nah, sis. Sit tf down with that. Like the Allied naval, land, and air forces on D-Day, we'll use ALL available tools to defend democracy against a tyrant.
